A complimentary evaluation of the property’s existing electrical infrastructure is conducted to develop the most cost-effective and efficient design for the building.
There is no cost and no obligation for this evaluation.
Each participating resident is responsible for a one-time EV Connection Fee. Depending on the number of participating residents and the requirements of the building’s new EV charging system design, the connection fee will typically range from $1,000 to $3,000 per resident.
This fee includes the cost of the required shared electrical infrastructure for the building as well as the EV charger designated for the resident’s parking space.
The installation cost of the EV charger is not included, as that expense will vary based on the distance between the resident’s parking space and the shared electrical infrastructure.
Following the community evaluation and resident enrollment, a formal proposal is presented to the Board for review and approval.
After funding is complete, the typical timeframe to complete the shared infrastructure installation is approximately 30 days.
If permitting is required, approval timelines may extend the installation schedule.
During the infrastructure installation period, participating residents receive instructions to set up their online billing accounts.
Residents are charged a $20 monthly service fee, plus the cost of the electricity they use. All electricity consumption is individually tracked, and the full cost of that energy is reimbursed to the association.
Residents work directly with the licensed electrician to schedule installation of their EV charger at their parking space. The installation cost is billed by the electrician and paid directly by the resident. Typical installation cost ranges from $1,500 to $3,000 to connect their charger to the new electrical infrastructure.
